IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students

IIT Delhi has opened admissions for international students to its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are being accepted until March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m. Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in .

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language ability, according to the institute’s notification.

Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International applicants can also submit scores from exams like GRE and GMAT.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination, among others.
