IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students Deadline March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened admissions for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

Admissions Open for International Students

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Application Process and Requirements

Interested candidates must apply online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in .

Applicants need to submit a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Required Scores and Tests

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from examinations like:

  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
  • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
  • University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
  • DST INSPIRE
  • Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
  • Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)

Proficiency in English language tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination may also be required.

Selection Criteria

Admission decisions are based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
