IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Interested foreign nationals can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.
The application window is open for admissions for the academic year 2026-27. Applications must be submitted by 4:00 PM on the closing date.
Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency and provide contact details for two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
These referees will assess candidates’ aptitude and potential for research. They will also comment on proficiency in the chosen field and in written and oral English.
Admission Requirements
Candidates may need to submit scores from national-level entrance exams. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores are also considered.
Accepted international exams include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews.
