Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.
Application Process
Candidates must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in.

Required Documentation
Applicants need to submit a statement of English proficiency. They must also provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Eligibility Criteria
IIT Delhi may require scores from national-level entrance examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores are also accepted. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Proficiency in English must be demonstrated through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Procedure
Admission will be based on an interview process. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited.
An interview committee, composed of faculty members from the relevant discipline, will conduct the interviews. The committee will evaluate candidates’ suitability for the program.
