IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal.
Eligibility Criteria
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through a self-declaration. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Admission Process
Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills. Applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, and DST INSPIRE. International tests such as GRE and GMAT are also accepted.
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. Applicants must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English.
