Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals can apply for PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic session. The application portal is accessible via the official IIT Delhi international admissions website atinternational.iitd.ac.in.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-Indian nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. This can be done through a self-declaration statement.
Application Requirements
Candidates need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE, GMAT.
Scores from English proficiency tests are also required. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. The interview committee will assess candidates’ suitability for the program.
