IIT Delhi opened admissions for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs to international students . Applications are due by March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Eligibility Criteria
Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores from GRE or GMAT may also be considered. English language proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination are necessary.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline. The institute aims to assess candidates’ overall suitability for advanced study.
