The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications are for the 2026-27 academic year. Prospective students must apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in .
Application Requirements
Applicants need to provide a statement of English proficiency. They must also list two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters. The referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude and research potential. They will also comment on English language skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national or international entrance exams. These can include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE, GRE, and GMAT. Proof of English language proficiency is mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English exams.
Selection Process
Admission is based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited. A faculty committee from the relevant discipline will conduct the interview. The committee evaluates the candidate’s overall suitability for the program.
