IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply until March 30, 2026 . Applications are accepted through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application window closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will comment on the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national eligibility tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International test scores are also considered. These include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Proficiency in English must be demonstrated. This can be done through tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Candidates must also submit their scores from these language proficiency tests.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
