IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4:00 PM.
Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.
Prospective students must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English communication abilities, according to the institute’s notification.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG admissions. International standardized test scores are also considered.
Accepted international tests include Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Candidates must also demonstrate English language proficiency. Accepted test scores include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
