IIT Delhi has opened applications for PhD and postgraduate programs. The deadline for international students to apply is March 30, 2026 . Applications are accepted through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Details
The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026. Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as GRE and GMAT are also considered.
Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
