IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students – Apply by March 30

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website atinternational.iitd.ac.in.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.

Admission Criteria

Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs will be based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee. IIT Delhi may also consider scores from standardized tests.

Required Test Scores

Depending on the program, candidates may need to submit scores from the following examinations:

  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
  • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
  • University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
  • DST INSPIRE
  • Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
  • Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)

Proficiency in English will be assessed through scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.
