IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Candidates can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.
The admission portal is open until 4 pm on March 30, 2026. This applies to admissions for the academic year 2026-27.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. They must also provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language ability. This assessment is part of the application review process.
Admission Requirements
Applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT are also considered.
Additionally, candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
