IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .

Admission Details

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27.

Interested applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.

Eligibility and Requirements

Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International standardized test scores, such as GRE and GMAT, are also considered.

Proof of English language proficiency is mandatory. Accepted test scores include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

IIT Delhi will grant admission based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.

The application portal for foreign national candidates is available at international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026 .
