Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
• Be a resident of Sikkim.
• Belong to one of the following communities: Other Backwards Class (OBC), Economically Backwards Class (EBC), or Denotified Nomadic Tribes (DNT).
• Be currently studying at the pre-matric level, specifically in Class 9 or 10.
• Be enrolled in a government school only.
• Have an annual family income not exceeding ₹2,50,000 from all sources.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• A recent passport-sized photograph of the student.
• One attested copy of academic transcripts, which includes certificates, diplomas, degrees, or any other relevant academic records.
• A valid caste certificate, duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO), who must not be below the rank of Tehsildar.
• An income certificate for the parent(s) or guardian(s), issued by the authority as determined by the state government.
• A receipt acknowledging the scholarship received from the previous year, if applicable.
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the PM Yasasvi Pre-Matric Scholarship by following these detailed steps:
Step 1: Visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 2: If you are a new user, click on the 'Register' button and fill in the necessary registration details. If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.
Step 3: On the dashboard, locate and click on the 'Students' option, usually found on the left-hand side.
Step 4: Navigate to the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option. This step is essential for applying for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 5: If you are a new user for the OTR process, click on 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 6: Carefully read all the details provided, tick the checkbox to confirm, and then click on the 'Next' button.
Step 7: Enter a functional mobile number, the displayed captcha code, and the OTP (One-Time Password) you receive. Submit these details to complete the initial registration process.
Step 8: Fill in all the required personal and academic details. Click on 'Save & Register' to complete the One-time registration (OTR) process.
Note: This is a temporary registration number. Students will need to download the OTR mobile application and complete face authentication to finalize the OTR process.
Step 9: After successful registration, go to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
Step 10: Select the PM Yasasvi Pre-Matric Scholarship, fill in all the required application details, upload the necessary documents as specified, and finally submit your application.
Important Note: All applicants are strongly advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Submitting multiple applications will lead to disqualification.
