About This Scholarship

The Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 9 & 10), Sikkim 2025, is an initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) students who are studying in Class 9 and 10.

The primary objective is to minimise the incidence of dropout among SC students during the transition from the elementary to the secondary stage of education. The application deadline for this scholarship is 31 October 2025.

The selected students will receive a consolidated academic allowance as follows:
Day Scholars: ₹3,500 per annum
Hostellers: ₹7,000 per annum

In addition, a 10% extra allowance will be provided to Divyang (disabled) students.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an applicant must:
• Be an Indian citizen.
• Be a domicile of Sikkim.
• Belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
• Be a full-time student in Class 9 or 10 from a recognised institution.
• Have a family income of less than ₹2,50,000 per annum.

Important Notes:
• The disability is defined under the relevant Section of the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016.
• The appropriate Government shall designate persons, having requisite qualifications and experience, as certifying authorities, who shall be competent to issue the certificate of disability.
• The award will be subject to satisfactory academic performance and 75% attendance every academic year.
• The candidates will be selected based on merit and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• One passport-size photograph with the student's signature.
• Self-attested copies of certificates and mark sheets for previously passed exams.
• Certificate of caste signed by an authorised Revenue Officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• The income certificate of the parents.
• Academic transcripts, including marksheets and certificates.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply by following these steps:

1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button on the official website.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
3. Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Now, click on the 'Login' button under the OTR option, as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Next' button.
7. Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
8. Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process.
Note: This is a temporary registration number; students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.
9. After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit.

Important Note:
All applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
