The application portal is open until 4 PM on March 30, 2026. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will be contacted to comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Submission of scores from national entrance exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE may be required for PhD and PG programs. International standardized test scores, such as GRE and GMAT, are also considered.
English language proficiency scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination are mandatory. Applicants may also need to provide scores from other recognized language tests.
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
