• have a combined annual income not exceeding ₹1,00,000 (family income for unemployed candidates)

Important Notes:

• Applicants who have already completed a degree or equivalent qualification in one field are ineligible for this scholarship if currently enrolled in another degree program of the same level (e.g., Bachelor's to Bachelor's, Master's to Master's) in a different subject.

• Students who have completed a career path in one professional field, such as obtaining a law degree (LLB) after completing a teaching qualification (B.T./B.Ed.), are ineligible for this scholarship.

• Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible if not permitted to practice during their studies.

• Students transitioning from undergraduate/postgraduate studies in Arts, Science, or Commerce to recognised professional or technical certificate/diploma/degree courses may be considered for the scholarship. However, once awarded, no further failures (except in 'Group 1' courses) are permitted, and course changes are not allowed.

• A scholarship holder under this scheme cannot hold any other scholarship or stipend. If awarded another scholarship or stipend, the student must choose one and inform the awarding authority through the Head of the Institution. No scholarship will be paid under this scheme from the date the student accepts another scholarship or stipend. However, the student may receive free lodging, a grant, or ad-hoc monetary assistance from the State Government or other sources for books, equipment, or living expenses, in addition to this scholarship.

Students whose parents' income is reduced due to the unfortunate death of an earning parent, resulting in eligibility under the scheme, may apply for a scholarship from the month of the parent's death. Such applications may be considered after the application deadline on compassionate grounds.
