IIT Delhi is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m. Applications are being accepted for the academic year 2026-27.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking skills, and English language ability. This information is according to the institute’s official notification.
Eligibility and Requirements
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International students may also submit scores from exams such as GRE and GMAT.
Candidates are required to submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination, among others.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select students based on their interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline. The institute will make admission decisions following these interviews.
