IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

Admissions Open for International Students

Foreign nationals can apply for academic year 2026-27. Applications are being processed through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website, international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referee Recommendations

Referees will be asked to evaluate candidates. Their assessment will focus on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This feedback is part of the admission review.

Required Examination Scores

Candidates may need to submit scores from specific entrance examinations. For PhD and PG programs, these can include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT are also considered.

English language proficiency test scores are also a requirement. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission to IIT Delhi programs will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. Interviews are conducted by faculty committees within the relevant disciplines.
