Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Admission Details
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters commenting on the candidate’s aptitude and English skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from national tests like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores such as GRE and GMAT are also considered.
English language proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are mandatory.
Selection Process
Admission is based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews. These interviews will be conducted by faculty committees in the relevant disciplines.
The interview committee will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
