Admission Eligibility and Requirements
The programs are open to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills. This information is detailed in the official notification.
Academic Qualifications and Scores
To be eligible for PhD and PG programs, candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also considered.
Additionally, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be accepted.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will conduct the interviews. Candidates with strong academic records are invited to this stage.
