IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Prospective students can submit their applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website.

Admission Details

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27. The application portal closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to name two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These can include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International applicants may submit scores from the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates will also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee. The committee will assess their suitability for the chosen discipline.
