IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs to international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible.

Admission Process

Applications are accepted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website: international.iitd.ac.in . The portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026 .

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will assess the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.

Depending on the program, applicants may need to submit scores from recognized entrance examinations. These include:

  • For PhD and PG Programs: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.
  • For specific programs: GRE or GMAT.

International students must also provide scores from English language proficiency tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Criteria

IIT Delhi will admit students based on their performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
