IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students | Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , by 4 p.m.

Admission Details

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. The application portal is accessible at international.iitd.ac.in.

Application Requirements

Applicants need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.

IIT Delhi may require scores from national eligibility tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores like GRE and GMAT are also considered.

Candidates must also submit scores from English proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examinations.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Students with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
