Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , by 4 p.m. Prospective students can apply online at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admission Eligibility
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.
Referees will be asked to evaluate candidates on their aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Academic and English Proficiency Requirements
To be considered for admission to PhD and PG programs, candidates may need to submit scores from examinations like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International students can also use GRE or GMAT scores.
English language proficiency must be demonstrated through tests such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. A committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline will interview applicants with strong academic records.
