IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students Open

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are open to international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can submit their applications online.

Admission Details

Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. The application window closes at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. The official portal for international admissions is international.iitd.ac.in .

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit a statement of English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will be contacted for recommendation letters.

Referees will assess candidates on their aptitude. They will also comment on proficiency in the chosen field. Potential for research and independent thinking are evaluated. English language skills, both oral and written, are also assessed.

Eligibility and Scores

For PhD and PG programs, IIT Delhi may require scores from specific entrance examinations. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Scores from CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE are also considered.

International examination scores are accepted. This includes the Graduate Records Examination (GRE). The Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) is also a valid option. English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, and TOEIC are required.

Selection Process

Admission decisions will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
