IIT Delhi has opened admissions for international students to its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are accepted online through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in . The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Eligibility Criteria
Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English language proficiency.
Candidates need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.
Admission Requirements
IIT Delhi may require scores from national and international standardized tests. These can include:
- Indian Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE, GMAT.
English proficiency test scores are also necessary. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examinations, among others.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on the candidate’s performance in an interview. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited to an interview conducted by a faculty committee in their chosen discipline.
