Admission Details
Applications are accepted online via the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in . The window is open until March 30, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-Indian citizens are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must provide a self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to list two referees for recommendation letters.
Referees will assess candidates on their aptitude, field-specific proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills. This assessment is part of the official notification.
Required Scores
Candidates may need to submit scores from national-level entrance examinations. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE) program.
International examination scores are also considered. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
Selection Process
Admission decisions are based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview panel consists of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
Proficiency in English must be demonstrated. Applicants may need to submit scores from tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may also be accepted.
