IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions Open for International Students

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .

Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applications are open for the academic year 2026-27.

Interested candidates must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters.

Referees will assess candidates on aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication skills.

Admission Process

IIT Delhi will consider scores from national and international standardized tests. These include:

  • National Tests: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.
  • International Tests: Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Candidates must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Admission decisions will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee.
