Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Applications are open to foreign national students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 , at 4 PM.
Prospective students can submit applications through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website, international.iitd.ac.in. The application window is for the academic years 2026-27.
Eligibility Criteria
Non-Indian nationals are eligible. This includes candidates holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must declare their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Admission Requirements
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.
International examination scores are also considered. These include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Applicants must also submit scores from English proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will receive interview invitations. The interviews will be conducted by a committee of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
