IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 .

Admissions Open for International Students

Foreign nationals can submit their applications for PhD and PG courses for the 2026-27 academic year. The application portal is available online at international.iitd.ac.in. The last date for submission is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.

Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.

Application Requirements

Applicants must provide a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to list two referees who can submit recommendation letters. The referees will evaluate a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English communication skills.

Admission to PhD and PG programs may require scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International test scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.

Candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
