Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply until March 30, 2026 . The application portal is available at international.iitd.ac.in. This intake is for the academic year 2026-27.
Eligibility Criteria
Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must declare their English language proficiency.
Application Requirements
Candidates need to provide names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters commenting on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Admission may require scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International tests like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also considered.
English proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records receive interview invitations. The interview committee comprises faculty members from the relevant academic discipline.
