The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 .
Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals, including Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders, are eligible. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27.
Interested students must apply online. The application portal closes at 4 PM on March 30, 2026.

Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.
Entrance exam scores may be required. These can include GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs.
International examination scores are also accepted. These include GRE and GMAT.
English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Admission Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. A faculty committee will interview students with strong academic records.
The interview will assess a candidate’s suitability for the chosen discipline.
