IIT Delhi is accepting applications for PhD and postgraduate programs from international students. The deadline to apply is March 30, 2026 . Eligible candidates can submit applications through the official portal at international.iitd.ac.in.
Admissions Overview
The application window is open for the academic year 2026-27. Foreign nationals, including those with Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply for PhD and PG courses.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English language skills.
Eligibility may also require scores from national-level tests such as GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International examination scores, including GRE and GMAT, may also be considered.
Candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will admit students based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
