IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions Open for International Students

IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27.

Prospective students must submit a statement of English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills.

Admission Requirements

Eligibility for PhD and PG programs at IIT Delhi may require scores from national exams like GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE. International exam scores from GRE or GMAT are also considered.

Applicants must also submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.

Selection Process

Final admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for this interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.
