IIT Delhi PhD, PG Admissions for International Students – Apply by March 30

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. International students can apply. The application deadline is March 30, 2026, at 4 p.m.

Foreign nationals are eligible. This includes those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications are accepted for the academic year 2026-27.

Interested students must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees. These referees will submit recommendation letters.

Admission Process

Referees will comment on a candidate’s aptitude. They will also assess proficiency in their chosen field. Research potential and independent thinking will be evaluated. English language skills will be assessed.

Candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE.

International exam scores may also be required. Accepted tests include Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).

Admission is based on interview performance. Students with strong academic records will be invited. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant discipline.

English language proficiency test scores are also necessary. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination. Other language tests may be accepted.
