IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students . The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested candidates can apply through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in .
Admission Details
The application window is open until 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026 . Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration of English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who can submit recommendation letters. These referees will be asked to evaluate the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Additional qualifications may be required. Candidates might need to submit scores from standardized tests such as:
- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
- Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)
- University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET)
- DST INSPIRE
- Graduate Records Examination (GRE)
- Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
International students may also need to submit scores from English language proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or the Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission to IIT Delhi’s PhD and PG programs will be based on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant discipline.
