IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, are eligible to apply.
Admissions Process
Applications can be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions website at international.iitd.ac.in. The portal will remain open until 4 PM on March 30, 2026.
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement of English proficiency. They also need to nominate two referees who will submit recommendation letters. These referees will be asked to evaluate the candidate’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
Depending on the program, candidates may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These include:
- Indian Entrance Exams: GATE, CSIR, UGC NET, or DST INSPIRE.
- International Exams: GRE or GMAT.
English Proficiency Tests
Proof of English language proficiency is mandatory. Accepted test scores include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Criteria
IIT Delhi will base admissions on interview performance. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited for interviews conducted by faculty members from the relevant departments.
