The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is now accepting applications from international students for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs. The deadline for submissions is March 30, 2026 , at 4 p.m.
Admission Details
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications are for the academic year 2026-27.
Candidates must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess a candidate’s aptitude, field-specific knowledge, research potential, and English language skills.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants may need to submit scores from standardized tests. These can include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exams like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted.
Applicants must also demonstrate English language proficiency. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and the Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will be invited for an interview with a faculty committee from the relevant department.
