IIT Delhi is accepting applications for its PhD and Postgraduate (PG) programs from international students. The application deadline is March 30, 2026 . Interested foreign nationals can apply through the official website at international.iitd.ac.in.
The application portal will close at 4 p.m. on March 30, 2026. Eligibility extends to non-Indian nationals. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English language skills.
IIT Delhi may require scores from standardized tests. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE. International exams like the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) may also be considered.
English language proficiency test scores are mandatory. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination. Applicants will be selected based on their performance in an interview. A strong academic record is necessary to be invited for this interview.
