IIT Delhi PhD & PG Admissions for International Students Open

IIT Delhi has opened applications for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs for international students . The application portal will remain open until March 30, 2026 , at 4:00 PM IST.

Eligibility and Application Process

Foreign nationals, including those holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards, can apply. Applicants must submit a statement declaring their English language proficiency. They also need to provide the names of two referees who will submit recommendation letters.

Referees will comment on the applicant’s aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, and English skills. The official application website is international.iitd.ac.in .

Admission Requirements

Candidates may need to submit scores from recognized examinations. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), and the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST INSPIRE) for PhD and PG programs.

International examination scores such as the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted. English proficiency test scores from TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English are required.

Selection Criteria

Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
