Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is accepting applications from international students for its PhD and postgraduate (PG) programs. Admission Eligibility
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applicants must submit a self-declaration of English language proficiency. They also need to provide names of two referees for recommendation letters. These referees will assess candidates’ aptitude, field proficiency, research potential, independent thinking, and English skills.
Required Test Scores
Eligibility for PhD and PG programs may require scores from national-level Indian entrance exams. These include the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or the DST INSPIRE program.
International applicants can also submit scores from standardized international tests. Accepted international exams include the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT). Furthermore, candidates must submit scores from English language proficiency tests like TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, or Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
IIT Delhi will select candidates based on their interview performance. Applicants with strong academic records will receive an invitation for an interview. The interview panel will consist of faculty members from the relevant academic discipline. This process evaluates candidates’ suitability for advanced study and research at IIT Delhi.
