Admissions Overview
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply. This includes individuals holding Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) or Person of Indian Origin (PIO) cards. Applications must be submitted through the official IIT Delhi international admissions portal at international.iitd.ac.in .
Application Requirements
Applicants must provide a statement or self-declaration confirming their English proficiency. They also need to name two referees who can submit recommendation letters. Referees will assess candidates on their aptitude, field-specific skills, research potential, independent thinking, and English communication abilities.
Standardized test scores may be required. These can include Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET), or DST INSPIRE for PhD and PG programs.
International examination scores like Graduate Records Examination (GRE) and Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) are also accepted. Additionally, applicants must submit scores from English language proficiency tests. Accepted tests include TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, OPI, OPIC, and Cambridge English Examination.
Selection Process
Admission will be based on performance in an interview. Candidates with strong academic records will be invited to interview with a faculty committee from their chosen discipline.
