A coaching class director was arrested in Nagpur in connection with the alleged leak of the Maharashtra Class 12 Chemistry paper. The arrest occurred in Umred, Nagpur, on Friday. Police identified the arrested individual as Atul Jagan Chaudhary, 38. He directs Target Academy Science in Umred.
Paper Leak Investigation
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education initiated an inquiry. Information suggested links between the paper leak and Umred. The inquiry focused on Target Academy. The academy had conducted a chemistry practice test shortly before the board exams. Investigators found significant similarities between the practice test questions and the actual exam paper.
A case was registered at Umred police station. The charges fall under the Prevention of Malpractices in Examinations Act. This law addresses fraudulent activities during examinations.
Special Investigation Team Formed
Superintendent of Police Dr. Harssh Poddar announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT will comprise five members. Their objective is to thoroughly investigate the entire chain of events. The team aims to uncover how the paper leak occurred.
This development follows the reported leak of the Class 12 Chemistry paper on February 26.
