The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will conduct the Class 10 Hindi and Hindi Composite examinations on March 4. Over 1.6 million students are registered to take these exams.
Exam Schedule and Details
Both the Hindi and Hindi Composite papers are scheduled for the morning session. The Hindi exam will run from 11 am to 2 pm . The Hindi Composite exam, designed for students combining Hindi with another language subject, will be shorter, taking place from 11 am to 1 pm .
The full Hindi paper is worth 100 marks and includes sections on prose, poetry, supplementary reading, grammar, and writing skills like essays and formal letters. The Hindi Composite paper divides the 100-mark requirement into two 50-mark papers, accommodating students taking Hindi alongside subjects like Sanskrit.
Passing Criteria
To pass the Maharashtra SSC Board examinations, students must achieve at least 35% in each subject and an overall aggregate of 35%.
Student Participation
A total of 16,15,489 students will appear for the Maharashtra SSC Class 10 Board Examinations. This includes 8,65,740 boys, 7,49,736 girls, and 13 transgender students. The exams are being held at over 5,100 centres across the state, involving 23,683 schools.
Exam Day Guidelines
The MSBSHSE has issued specific guidelines for students appearing for the Hindi exams:
- Admit Card: Students must carry a printed copy of their SSC hall ticket. Entry is denied without it.
- Reporting Time: Candidates must be seated by 10:30 am. Late entries after 11:00 am may not be permitted.
- Allowed Stationery: Writing materials should be in a transparent pouch. Only blue or black ink pens are permitted.
- No Reading Time: The 10-minute reading time previously allowed has been discontinued.
- Prohibited Items: Electronic devices including mobile phones, calculators, and smartwatches are strictly forbidden. Possession can lead to disqualification.
- Answer Sheet Barcode: Students must correctly paste the provided barcode sticker and enter their seat number accurately.
- Identification: Wearing school uniforms and carrying school ID cards is advised for smooth verification.

The Maharashtra State Board does not release official answer keys. However, private coaching centers and subject experts may publish unofficial answer keys and paper analyses to help students assess their performance.
