TN SSLC, Plus Two Exams 2026: Over 17 Lakh Students Appear

Tamil Nadu Class 10 and 12 board exams begin March 3, 2026. A total of 17.61 lakh students will appear for the examinations. The Directorate of General Education, Tamil Nadu is conducting the exams.

Exam Schedule and Student Numbers

Class 12 examinations will run from March 3 to March 27. A total of 8.27 lakh students will take these exams. This includes 7.99 lakh regular students and 27,783 private candidates.

Class 10 (SSLC) exams are scheduled from March 11 to April 6. Approximately 9.09 lakh students will participate. Of these, 8.82 lakh are regular students and 26,196 are private candidates.

The Tamil Nadu First Year Higher Secondary (+1) exams will be held from March 3 to March 27. The data shows 25,051 candidates will take these exams, with 19,107 regular and 5,944 private students.

Examination Staffing

The government has assigned substantial staff for exam supervision. For Class 12, there are 4,540 chief superintendents and 44,624 invigilators.

Class 11 exams will have 289 officials and 2,668 invigilators. Class 10 examinations will be supervised by 4,954 officials and 49,542 invigilators.
