Students Stranded by Conflict

The conflict in West Asia led to widespread airspace closures. This directly impacted the students’ travel plans. Flights across the Middle East experienced disruptions.

ISBS Dean Janardhan Pawar stated, “All are safe and have been moved to a hotel.” He confirmed the students and staff were on a study visit. The airspace closure stranded them.

Official Response and Next Steps

Indira Group of Institutes Chairperson Tarita Shankar confirmed all students and staff are safe. “We are in constant touch with them,” she said. The institute is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Shankar added, “They will be brought back at the earliest.” Reports indicate significant geopolitical events, including an attack impacting Iranian leadership, contributed to regional instability and flight cancellations.

The disruption highlights the impact of international conflicts on student travel and academic programs. ISBS is working to ensure the safe return of all affected students.
