Teacher Vacancies Across Haryana
As of January 2026, a total of 15,451 teaching posts are vacant statewide. Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda confirmed these figures in a written reply to Congress MLA Aditya Surjewala. The government stated its commitment to filling these roles. However, recruitment and promotion processes can face delays due to legal challenges, impacting fixed timelines.
District-Wise Breakdown
The Nuh-Mewat district accounts for 4,954 of the total vacant positions. Other districts also report significant shortages:
- Ambala: 925 vacancies
- Gurugram: 1,130 vacancies
- Palwal: 1,595 vacancies
- Yamunanagar: 1,721 vacancies
School Infrastructure
In response to a separate query, Minister Dhanda confirmed that all government schools in Haryana have functional toilet facilities and access to drinking water. These assurances were given as of January 2026.
