AIIMS Gorakhpur Doctor Faces Racial Slurs, Assault

A third-year resident doctor from Nagaland at AIIMS Gorakhpur reported alleged racial slurs, stalking, and assault by three men near the institute. The incident occurred Sunday evening. Police have registered a case and are seeking the suspects.

Incident Details

The doctor, specializing in obstetrics and gynaecology, was returning to the campus around 8:00 PM. She reported being followed for approximately 1.5 kilometers. The men reportedly hurled obscene remarks and racial slurs. One suspect removed his shirt to intimidate her. Another allegedly touched her inappropriately.

Police Action

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kaustubh stated that CCTV footage helped identify a motorcycle used by the accused. Four police teams are actively searching for the suspects. Strict action will be taken upon their apprehension. A case has been filed at the AIIMS police station under relevant sections.

Victim’s Ordeal

The doctor raised an alarm, causing the three men to flee the scene. The National Federation of Resident Doctors of AIIMS and INIs (NAFORD) highlighted the incident on social media. They described the doctor’s experience as deeply shocking and humiliating. The federation stated the men used racially discriminatory comments and stereotypes related to her origin.
